While I'm sure it was exasperated by Monday rain and the nature of my work, the news about that Long Island Walmart temp worker who was trampled to death during a sales frenzy has had me in a qualified funk all day.
It's such a preposterous tragedy, I don't want to believe it. But then I do and feel sick to my stomach. It doesn't help when you read details like, "customers simply stepped over him and kept on shopping even as the store announced it was closing because of the death, police and witnesses said."

Anyway.
I had a year off from Thanksgiving, which I really thought was fine, but a few days later it sunk in that I missed those rare times when the entire family is together and things felt off.
So in an attempt to fix that, here's my list of things I'm thankful for
My ever loving and supportive parents, who have provided me, along with thousands of other gifts, the treasure of accessibility to the bigger world, and aid/put up with all my various ambitions.
My beautiful sisters-everyday I feel blessed that the words sibling and best friend can mean the same thing.
All the amazing friendships that have formed over the years. My comfort starting over from scratch in NZ is testimony to solid bonds overseas.
Blind luck/fate/karma-I'm not sure which is responsible for all this good fortune so I'll give props to all three and cover my ass.
The photo site is up, pretty pleased with how it came out. If you're ever bored, check it out nathanshulmanphotography.com (I'm still trying to legitimize in my head paying monthly for it)

The LI Wal-Mart worker was trampled in the town that the boy I'm kinda dating lives in. I felt sooo sick to my stomach when I read about that. And when I think about it.
I'm so stoked on the photo website!
And to know a wonderful kindred spirit like yourself.
